Denim cut offs never go away, not that there is any need for it, but I want it done with style. With the heat of summer coming it is too easy to just throw on a tank top and cutoffs and be done with it. Not on my beat.
At this point, although the lighter denim is slowly coming back into stores with some style, I prefer the dark wash with no string stragglers, please. You can find a fabulous pair at Capricorn Boutique in La Jolla; its short, dark wash and a clean cut.
There is also some joy in seeing women wearing cut offs that were initially intended for a man, like Jennifer Aniston wore on the December cover of GQ. Although she wears it topless, I would recommend a breezy top.
My favorite though is Kate Moss wearing a tucked in white button down and some large sunglasses. The thinness of the fabric as well as the looseness of it will still keep you cool while looking fabulous. The edgy leather belt tops it off. Love it!
